Title: Smooth On Glue
Post by: foamer01 on September 07, 2008, 09:10:00 PM
Just curious how much glue most of you mix up for a 60" recurve for example. By the time we clamped the bow down we had glue dripping all over. I cant help but think we spread it way to thick. We mixed thirteen tablespoons. Thanks for your help.

I used 4oz on a 49" recurve, 2 glass, 2 lams, and riser..I applied on both sides of lams and riser.

There is roughly 2 tablespoons in an ounce...so you used roughly 6 1/2oz...

I use about 8 oz for a longbow.  That is with six pieces including the glass.  I wrap the bow in plastic wrap to contain the excess squeeze out.  If you don't have some oozing out, you didn't use enough!
