Thinking about doing some trading at MOJam next summer. There was lots of osage there this year and I scored some decent yew, but there was none of this recent harvest.

What ya got there Shaun?
Looks like Hickory to me. If it is make sure you get it sprayed. Had a couple of hickory logs in my barn and the worms attacked it. Spray it as soon as possible. Dean
Its pear. Have not used it before but fruit woods are reported to make good bows. I know peat has been used for things like wooden measuring tools (my old architect's 3 sided ruler is pear and some old slide rules) and for block print blocks. Fine grained and stable. It hard to find one where the grain does not barber poll up the tree.
Hadn't thought about fruit trees, glad ya told us,my poor brain was smokin' tryin to figure that out!
Should make pretty bows. I think fruit trees should make nice bows also. Nut trees and any tree with thorns too!
