Title: Chef Knife
Post by: Ky longbow on November 21, 2017, 01:34:00 AM
I have been looking into getting a custom chefs knife and was wondering if anyone has pictures of their own and who made it?

I have one in CPM S35v that I started and got about 80% of the metal work done but never completed.  I guess I need to slap a handle on it and finish that one up.  I haven't thought about it in quite a while.  I bet that blank is close to a year old.  Distractions I guess.

You don't have to do laminated or Damascus...but Burt's designs have great feel in the hand. Forget the beauty of Burts knives and look at the design of the blade shape and angles.  I've forged a few with different chefs just to see what they like...whole new experience try it...tippit

Maumasi Fire Arts, Haley and Adam Desrosiers, Don Nguyen, Aaron Wilburn are a few of the makers I know who make outstanding kitchen equipment.  You can google any of them to see their work.

Those look amazing! I definitely will be contacting Burt in the future about a knife of similar design as that top picture posted by tippet!
