I did this for a guy on another forum. Mora Stainless blade with a whitetail antler handle and brass guard. Sheath is 7-8 oz leather handmade.

Thats gnarly looking piece of antler.
great work on the knife & that sheath is awesome! Larry
How did you do the deer foot on the end? And how do you get the color in it?

I used a dremel tool with the engraving bits and then put sepia colored ink in it.
Nice Knife and nice sheath work too!!
Good lookin knife and leather. Did you stain the antler, and if so, what with?

I also do european skull mounts and this antler came off one of my own deer. It had been stained with antler stain and then I went back with a buffing wheel that dremel makes(kind of looks like a coarse sponge) and hit it in all the high areas so that the only dark left was in the recessed areas. I also sand off any of the bumps on the antler that make it uncomfortable in your hand. I would think wood stain would work...never tried it though.
real nice work
THANKS FOR ALL THE COMPLIMENTS!
Skull, do you have a website showing your work with the european mounts?
