Nice looking knives man!!
did you make the blades yourself? Those are awsome.
I do pressure flake obsidian although these blades were done by other people.I kinda laid off flaking for a while, but these knives have inspired me to get back into it. The pictures do not do these knives justice.
what is the handle made of on the one with the red blade? What is the red blade?
Look good to me!
The red blade is glass. The blade is 5 and 1/2 inches long and 2 inches wide. The handle is made from cholla catus with black walnut endcap.

Now THAT'S a collection!
do you guys use those knifes or ar the for display?
I don't use mine. They are sharp enough to use but won't hold an edge like a modern knife.
I traded one of my knives to Woody (Knife River). Seems as though he got the shot end of the deal...Doc

Awesome knibes Mysticbow!
My first knapped knife that turned out half decent. Made of mahogany Obsidian and a caribou antler tip. Its not perfect, but I am slowly starting to get knapping.

(http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/hdc123/DSCN9896.jpg) here is one my brother gave me
Brian and all, its been a while since I've put together a knife. I tried flintknapping and came to the conclusion that I'll patronize those who do the craft justice. So what I do is paint on stone blades then assemble. Its been about 7 years since I've made one and checking out this forum, especially the knife swap has inspired me to pull some old blades and antler out of the dark, dust off the cobwebs and start again. Here's a blade that will be in the swap. Not finished except for the paintings on each side. Got to find the right handle then inlay some beadwork.
Thanks all
Have Fun
