I didn't post my 2nd knife, I gave it away. This one is getting donated to the United Bowhunters of Missouri Auction to be held the first part of February. It is 5160 steel, hammer forged and ground smooth. Spine was drawn back with a torch. Spine and pommel have filework. Handle is wenge. Both guard and pommel are also 5160 steel. Blade is 4.5" in length. Sheath is horizontal carry and has a rare earth magnet in sheath to make sure knife doesn't slip free.

Thanks guys, I am getting better all the time. Maybe someday I will become as good as you Doug. I love your knives. WOW.
Bret
Cool design, looks like a comfortable cutter. Neat use of a RE magnet also.
Very nice Bret, could you show where, on the sheath, you installed the magnet?
Outstanding - love the magnet idea!
nice work :0)
Very nice.<><
If that is only your 3rd knife, you are way ahead of the curve!
The magnet is approximately 1/4 of the way down the sheath from the top. The sheath is lined on the inside with a thin furniture leather. I sandwiched the magnet between the two layers. The layers were glued together with contact cement from Tandy leather. The rare earth magnets are so strong that you can feel the magnet grab the blade when you insert it into the sheath. It definately won't fall out.
Bret
I like that idea, Bret. Where is your source for such magnets?
I buy them off of that internet store that rhymes with fleabay. Just search rare earth magnets. I believe the ones I got were like 1/4" diameter and 1/4" thick. You can get 20 or so for around $5.00.
Good luck, Bret
wow that is great
i agree if that is only your third you have me blown out of the water. :clapper:
