I harvested my first game with the longbow last evening. 23 yards quartering away. As soon as the wife gets up and e-mails me the pictures I will post and give the whole story.... It was a great night in the woods.

Ah sweet success. Congrats!
I guess you're gonna make us wait for the pics to see what sort of game you took.
Its been a long day. I finally have my pictures. I'll post the pictures first and then tell the story. Here she is. I just picked up traditional equipment a little over a year ago. I have practiced relentlessley almost everyday for the past year. I guess it finally paid off.

Congratulations
Man, that's awesome. Congratulations!
Nothing like the first-way to go!!
Good job Scott, get the bbq fired up!!
Great Job Slayer1. How'd you like seeing those white fletchings flying to the mark?
Looks like my first trad doe two years ago, right in the back of the lungs. Was just kind of magic the way the string slipped and the fletch disappeared. Congrats!
I have killed a bunch of deer with the wheels. But nothing compares to the feeling of taking a deer with traditional gear. Last year I shot a doe and had to leave her overnight. The coyotes got to her first. I shot that one with a re-curve. That bow just didn't fit me. So I sold it and bought my longbow from a fellow tradgang(Crash). I guess I am considering this my first kill since I will be able to eat the meat!
Congrats! ><>

TJ, I love white feathers. You can see them really well. I keep all my gear plain - nothing fancy. No cresting or wraps. Those white feathers just disappeared right in the back of the rib cage. I think that picture was the exit hole. Got the back of the lungs. The arrow was covered in blood with bubbles in it. She only went about 60 yards and piled up.
This is the entry hole. Them landsharks dont play.

Well done mate, Blow up that pic and put it stright on the hunting wall.
Return on investment. All the time spent practicing, comes down to one moment. Now you can talk the talk. I bet you can still see the arrow in flight.
