story coming up.
That's an arrow that Ed (3dMuzzy) gifted my son Ru this past January. The arrows are getting a bit short for him as he keeps stretching... ... being fourteen.,.. But he managed to break one the right way before completely outgrowing them.
cant wait!!!! :D
ohhhhh yeeeeaaaahhhhh ( To quote Shawn )
Ru on father's login:
"On my way to my hunting area I stumbled on a herd of does. About eight in all. After crawling fifteen yards I was within fifteen yards of a doe staring right at me. She paced back and fourth for nearly fifteen minutes at which point I decided I didn't have much daylight left. She walked into an opening, I rose on one knee and aimed about a foot in front of her. She was alert, saw me draw and was either going to turn, drop, or bolt forward to catch my arrow. I saw the arrow hit the chest but was not sure where. She tore off with the rest of the herd. I was looking after her when a spot of white movement caught my eye...
Yeahhhhhhhhhh! That's what I'm talking about!!!! Can't wait for this one......... :archer:
David
Gotta love it. That's one beautiful arrow!!
Im smiling ...now on with the details!! :D
This will be worth the wait, I can tell.
... the herd left as dark was seting in fast. I saw the white spot left behind, not fifty yards from the place I shot, and quietly retreated.
I returned an hour and a half later to retrieve the arrow which was five yards from the place the deer was standing when I shot. It looked good. Bright bubbly red. Not a lot was missing but enough.
An hour later my little brother, my father and I went to find it. I could see the white spot from far off in the light of the flashlight. We followed the blood trail anyway. There was lots of it... and at the end of it, there she was!

I know! It was made for me by Ed Oetzel. Him and Woodchucker were with me on this hunt. Ed through his arrows and Chuck through the quiver he sent me last year. I''ve used it ever since.

whats your set up!?!?
Outstanding! Nice job!
An old 56" Bear Grizzly, #45@28, cedar arrows tipped with 125gr broahead he won at the JLMBH (donated by Kingstaken here I believe.) I can't remember the arrow co. It's the other one that makes them looking like those Ribtek. Someone :help: !!!
Ru was just here reading the encouragements and congratulations and still smiling. I know he's worked really hard for this deer. Many mornings he's gone out early before the school bus left and then again, after school in the short hour before dark. Every time he returned with new lessons learned. On Tuesday, after school he really only had one hour of shooting light left but he showered, changed and went out there religiously. What an awesome reward for his perseverence!!!
And... he's still got another tag. Who knows, he might have another story soon. ;)
Thank you all,
Aram
Wouldn't be a Cheetah broadhead, would it? I know they have the same-style ferrules as the Ribteks...
Ru, Joe was looking at your deer photo and wanted to congratulate you by saying, Wicked animal
Ya gotta love those old Grizzlies!!!!! They can still get the job done.
