I was out of school this past week on spring break and we had a big week planned BUT, 3 inches of rain the first part of the week and then a stomach virus in the middle. I finally got to feeling better on Thursday and Dad had found a bunch of Carp, Gar, and Buffalo(fish) in a flooded corn field so we decided to try them on Friday night. Our friend, Conan (fur stalker), has a nice bowfishing rig, so we hit the water at 6:30pm and They, not me, got tired of shooting at 10:30pm.....They let me do a lot of the shooting and several times, I thought I was gonna get dragged into the water. Man it was fun! We had 32 fish in the boat Friday night with the biggest at 49 lbs............We went again Saturday night for 3 hours and the air temp was about 20 degrees cooler. The fish weren't as active but it was still a great trip. Conan and Dad let myself and our buddy Robert do all the shooting.....12 fish in the boat and a biggest at 59.5 lbs........... Great take along, Skyler :) Excellent pic's as always, bows and boats are a blast, but fish like that make it even better at the end of the day :notworthy:

They just don't make fun like that anymore.
Looks like you had a great time Skyler! Congrats! Those are some BIG fish! :D Thanks for sharing! ;)
That looks like a lot of fun. Nice setup your buddy has Skyler. Whats the poundage on the blue fiberglass bow? I have one that feels like about 40#, just wondering if it would work for bowfishing.
I wonder something... do you guys clean this crap after shoot it... i mean. In my country when we catch crap, we put it in clean water, and feed him for day or two to clean itself...meat is much better after.
How is with this arrow wound? Is it too much shock for animal to stay alive?
G'day Maj! Some folks think carp and crap are one and the same, especially here in Australia where the Murray River is concerned...but the words do mean distinctly different things! Thanks for the giggle though, mate!
And well-done to Skyler and crew! Are carp a feral menace in the USA? They are here.
Cheers,
Ben
great pics sky!
Great pics and looked like a blast.
'Bout the only thing carp are good for...
Great job Skyler and crew. I'd love to spend some time shooting with your bunch. Looks like you really know what your doing. That boat takes the cake, makes mine look like a tin can!
Man that looks like fun! Great job.
Great shooting!!!!!

Hey Skyler! Thanks for sharing your great pictures. My son is going to be 11 next week and will be joining the boy scouts too. He is very excited about it.
 Skyler that is a great bunch of fish. Would love to get into a mess of fish like that. Is that a normal outing down there in Alabama?
THX again Everyone!!! Terry, I like the Big ones! Gregg, tell your son good luck with the Scouts and we are looking forward to the TBOF Shoot in August.....Richard, No this is not a normal trip but we do shoot a lot of fish and we have some monsters...We live on Lake Guntersville....Here's what Dad said happened, we had 3 inches of rain and the water level rose quickly and flooded some corn fields..WE'D HAD WARM TEMPS and the water temp was 60 degrees and they moved shallow into the fields.....Right place--Right time...Skyler
Skyler, your the man!! I wish I would have had more time to hang out with you at the banquet, you got some mojo with you!!!
Ethan
Man that looks like a bunch of fun.
that is very cool. it looks like a blast!!
Man!!! I wish I had carp that big around my place. Can't wait to get a chance to get some bow fishing going on. Bet that would be great bear bait.
MAN!!!! that is so sweet i would love to do that.
Yep gotta love it when high water brings those big buffalo in. They are great eating too, the buffs mostly come from good clean water, there is a heck of a chunk of boneless meat in them bigguns. We'd fry em up like most anything else. My wife would can the carp and extra buffs. I'd keep bringing them home till she'd threaten me with bodily harm if she saw any more. Then they'd start becoming fertilizer ;)
Great job guys!!
