I put Gannon in the South Ridge stand early Thanksgiving morning while I hunted another stand a half mile away hoping for a shot at a doe. About 10:00 I start walking toward's my son's stand and I here him yelling "Dad Dad". When I get to him he tells me he shot a deer and he reenacts the whole scene. I find blood immediatly and start following it. After about fifty yards of this he starts laughing and tells me " I've already found him, he's right up here." After some serious hugging and laughing I took this picture. (http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr64/huckbuck_photos/Gannons08Buck004-1.jpg)

Hi, Dad asked me to tell about my Thanksgiving day deer hunt so here it goes. Well first off we woke up at the crack of dawn like always and well i sort of had a feeling that i was going to see some deer that morning. We got out to the lease late and i saw a buck under a tree and two does in a field across the road. Dad dropped me off on the ridge stand and i got in and got comfy and waited. At about 7:45 i heard leaves crunching on the other side of the creek down below. It stopped and I stood up slowly and started looking for a deer body and the next time he moved i saw him. He creeped towards the creek, stopped , got a drink and slowly fed up the ridge. I had a 15 yard shot but he was quartering towards me so i loosened the tension on my bowstring. He kept walking right up towards my treestand and he walked behind a tree. I drew my bow and I saw the shot in my head, I released and watched my arrow sink into his lungs and i was amazed with my heart pounding i was relieved. I heard him cross the creek and crash around. I got down from my stand at 9:20 and followed the blood trail for 75 yards or so. There he laid, I yelled Yes! and went and looked for my Dad.Gannon
