After several days of sitting in my blind and seeing nothing but an occassional bird and squirrel, I was actually contemplating moving my blind. I arrived at the blind about 4:30 pm to find a big doe in front of it and she immediately vacated the area.....Well I thought....the only deer to visit my site in daylight and I messed that up!!!.I crawled into my double bull and prepared to sit until dark--AGAIN!!!! At 5:55 pm I noticed a deer about 50 yds to my south and thought it was a doe.....but then it looked my way and I seen it was in fact a legal buck! I watched as it took 25 minutes to cover the next 50 yards....then it went to a small amount of corn that I had in amongst falling white oak acorns....another 10 minutes of eating as I only had a head on shot....As I semi-calmly waited....dark was falling fast among the acorn trees. I thought this buck is going to get out of here without me even getting a shot at him....and just then he turned slightly to his left.....giving me his shoulder!!! I focused on a dark spot about the size of a quarter and all else went blurry...I raised my recurve and settled in to my anchor and released...the arrow buried up to the fletching as the deer whirled and went at warp speed. i went to get my son to help track it and let the deer have "HIS" time to work all this out. When we returned...we found the deer only 40 yds from where I had shot him. My shot was 15 yards ......Crow Creek recurve...Easton legacy 2016 arrows....Magnus Stinger 2-blade 125 grain broadheads. I thank God for the opportunity and time to hunt.....and my son and a good friend for being there to enjoy the thrill of my first traditional archery deer kill!!!! It turned out to be a 10 point buck. I will post pix when I figure out how! It don't get any better than this!!!! KILDOG
