Been a pretty slow season for me so far this year, with the heat and then all the work I have to get done before I can chase them goats. Still, my son Kory and I have managed to get out a bit. Opening week, Kory climbed out of his treestand and made a stalk and kill on this young turkey....his second in three years with a longbow.

Then this past weekend, Kory stalked and filled his doe tag. He was worried about waiting until later to fill it, as it took him awhile last year. This is Kory's 6th year hunting, all with trad bows. He is quite a veteran already at the tender age of 17, and my best hunting partner. Still got a lot of season to go...if the elk and antelope would only cooperate!

Anybody who can stalk a turkey and a doe and take them with a longbow is a hunter in my book. Of course I read that this is not the first time.
:notworthy:

Congratulations Kory!
I was just thinking about you guys yesterday while I was mowing the lawn. Wondering how your season was going. Glad someone in the family is filling the freezer. I know Mark, your saving yours for that goat.
I wish you the best of luck! Looking forward to seeing you in Feb.!!

Thanks all....some of you that know Kory, know that he is quite a hunter. Comes natural to him, and it is refreshing to see youngsters with that strong a desire for the outdoors. His older brother Boone hunts some, but is more easily distracted by the things that young men their age get distracted by....
I always worried that my lifestyle would cause "burnout" in my kids, so I was careful in how I raised them. They are both good kids, but Kory is indeed as trad as they come, and he's good at it, to boot! He shows me up all the time, but I don't mind.
Mighty fine work Kory!
And mighty fine work to you too Mark, raisin em right ain't easy, but looks like you're up to the task.
 Like seeing them younguns on the PowWow!
Nut didn't fall to far from the tree? Eh Mark?
Good stuff buddy!
Congrats to you both!
