Chad should be checking in shortly. He should be at work with high speed internet by now.
Ok boys(and Ladies) here goes! I went to ky hunting thursday for the first time this year. I had been in the stand about 10 min when a lil basket rack buck came through. He got in to about 20 yards at on point but i never even tried to get a shot at him. bout an hour later this buck came in and i didn't see him till he was about 35 yards out. I stood up and tried to get my bow and get ready for a shot. The buck stood quartering toward me a 20 yards for what seemed like forever. All of a sudden he took off like someone slapped him on the butt! He ran by as i bleated for all i was worth trying to stop him. He slammed on the brakes at about 15 yards with his head behind a tree! :D I came to full draw and shot through a small hole and hit him. When he ran off he broke the arrow off. I waited awhile and climbed down to inspect the arrow. The buck never bled for almost a hundred yards then i started finding some small drops of blood which had me concerned. after finding blood for about 50 yards it just quit, so i decided to back out and give him awhile. I went back the next morning and found that i had walked within 10 feet of him the night before. Where i lost the trail he had did a 180 and went the opposite way.
I shot him with a Javaman all wood duoflex 54#@28" 600gr chundoo arrow with WW head. And yes Mr Easter it was in Fleming county KY. :D
Now for the rest of the story.... When i got home from hunting i was talking to my wife and drew the bow back in the living room. when i went to let down i hear the TICK! :scared: Now the bow will be put in a place of honor, Mickey's house!
Beautiful deer Chad...way to go! Congrats to you, and like the others, I can't wait to hear the story.
Oh Btw. Thanks for all the kind words.
Yesiree nice buck and story! Gotta love that velvet   Congrats Chad!!

Too bad about the bow. :( She went down a fighter.
I hate those low blood and no blood trails. Sure is rewarding though when they pay off. :D
COngratulations again and glad you got your shot.
Wow! Beauty Chad! Great job. CK
Looks like the bar has been set pretty high. That is going to be one tough act to follow...what do you have planned for an encore?
Continued good luck for the rest of the season.
Nice buck Chad! Say, do you give lessons? :D
I hope to SEE a buck like that in my lifetime! Great shot!!

Chad,
Awsome job...Awsome deer....too bad about the bow.
can it be fixed??
Congrats
Nick
Schweeeeeeet! That is a beaut, hope you repeat in the Buckeye.
Congrats too Chad, you sure got all the whitetail hunters going now! :D What a nice buck.
Great story, and I look forward to shaking your hand in person in 58? days!!! :bigsmyl:
Save freezer room for some cajun stuff from down here.
I've just got 2 words: D-ang!
That is absolutley beautiful - we got 2 weeks yet here (and no deer that big :( ) but its got my blood boiling even more.
Looks like nice shot placement - any idea why the blood trail was so sparse????
(that's one reason I miss hunting in snow)
Great Deer. Cograts, sorry to hear about your bow.
Congratulations!
Man I miss hunting in KY, IL and especially Ohio, with those long seasons and big bucks. I am resuming my Ohio hunting next season!
Dang that's a nice deer!
Good job stick'n him.
Way to go Chad!!!!! Nice buck my man. :notworthy:
Sorry to hear about the Bow. But what a last shot it had. Very cool Chad congrats
Now that's the way to start your season! CONGRATS and I look forward to seeing more pictures from you this season   your on a roll now, keep it going!
Thanks everyone, i still ain't came down from this high yet.
Jason, I'm not sure why it didn't bleed. I hit it as good as you could ask for but there just wasn't much blood.
Troy, I have about 3 weeks till the Ohio season comes in. I'll be back after it then. I have seen a fe bucks where i hunt that makes this buck look like a yearling.
Mark, I like surprises so i'll keep some freezer space open. Looking forward to you getting up here.
I doubt that the bow can be fixed. And right now you have to know where to look to even see the crack. It will look better on Mickey's wall than it would if the limb was in two pieces.
Thanks again everyone.
Great buck, Chad. That's the way to start the season. I hope the rest of your season goes as well. Pat
Congrats. That's one heck of a deer!
Thanks guys.
TTT one more time for Chad and his great buck!!!
WOOOEEE!! Man I'm tickled for ya Chad. That is one nice buck. That velvet "cranks my tractor" !!
Sorry to read about your bow, but it's timing was about as perfect as you could ask for seeing how it was gonna go anyway. Anymore pics?
OUTSTANDING! Thanks so much for sharing. I love deer stories. Too bad about your bow though. Looks like she has really earned her retirement.
Thanks again Chad. What a sweet deer!
Congratulations on a great hunt Chad! Thanks for sharing it with us.
TomD
Congrats again Chad, too bad about the bow, but I bet it does look good on Mickey's wall. Very cool!!!
Chad,
My hat's off, and SALUTE!
Dano, If i ever get a day off from work, i'll deliver the bow to Mickey. Hopefully i'll get to next week.
Thanks everyone for all the kind words, I really appreciate it. I ain't much of a hunter but i do get lucky sometimes.
