I was hunting a Christmas Tree farm this morning. I had gotten permission from the owner last Holiday season. I was'nt there more than an hour sitting when i saw 4 bucks, a huge doe and some little ones. the buck i shot was no more than 5 yards from me staring at me and i really did'nt want to shoot him since he seemed small so i waited hoping to kill his moma'. She is a monster doe! Well, she was smarter than me so she never came up and he followed, so i waited till he went behind some shrubs then i got into position and shot 20 yards downhill, quartering type shot through both lungs, he went down in like 50 yards. I was using my Martin Shadow which i pull close to seventy pounds and a homade pine arrow with a trade point i made! The old guy in the pic is the property owner who was kind enough to help me gut and skin him.....God bless "Ed" His name. (http://ib.photobucket.com/albums/y231/maddogfletcher/hunting001.jpg)

Jeff-
Great job on your first trad harvest.
I'll be looking for mine this Saturday.
Bryan
Congrates but why does the picture say 2003? And why bring the "old guys" age into it? Hey he was two years younger in 2003.
I don't know but it sure works for me. I got my first last year (as an "Old Guy" - LOL) and i hope to add to it this year - starting Saturday. I would settle for just seeing one/some but would love to take another. Small or big - or anywhere in between, it doesn't matter to me.
Good job Jeff, season starts here Saturday.
Way to go Jeff!
The small ones taste better anyway and the mom's are very smart. My first kill was a similar situation. Congrads again.
Congrats, hope to get my first one this fall. Two weeks 'til the season opens and I can't wait!!!! Good job.
Hope it's the first of many Jeff...great job!

Thanks everyone!!!! I hope you all have great luck like i did and are blessed by our Father in heaven like i was. It was exciting!!!! I de-boned him today and have him "hanging" in coolers on ice like i did my doe two years ago. It's warm here as some of the Oregonians can vouch for.
Jeff
Way to go Jeff!
