I have a 6 and it is a great little camera.  easy to use, lots of different mode settings to optimize the quality of pictures.

I have the Leica V-LUX 1 which is similar to this camera. In the higher mag. you will need to use the anti-shaking mode. It has been an excellent camera. You can get a extra battery and charger of e-bay. I think mine came from Hong Kong. The only thing you can't use it for digiscoping.

I have the 7 and am really pleased with the pictures.  I find the bracket mode extremely effective.  My only complaint is the camera is a a little bulky when compared to my smaller (credit card size) cameras.  However, it is capable of matching or exceeding my 35MM when used correctly.  Also, buy an extra battery, it the s***'s when the battery goes dead at a critial time.

All the Lumix cameras are solid little units.

Thanks Jerry, I will be picking one up shortly.....it was between one of these and a Nikon D50 SLR.  Ultimately it came down to size, I'd hate to leave the D50 home on a local hunt and be without a camera.....

Thanks all,
David

That's why I chose the Canon Powershot 710A. Even got a waterproof housing for it!
