I have a Whole Slide Box Full of Slides of My First Wife, She was Killed in a Car Accident in '89, that I would like to get Scanned and Transferred to a CD for My Daughter. Do I have to Destroy the Cardboard Edging around the Slide? Or is there Some "Professional" Way to do it? I have a Fine Canon Scanner, and I think My Daughter Needs to See These Photos of her Mother.
Any Help Would Be Appreciated!!
No, you don't have to destroy the cardboard mount! Sounds like your scanner is a flatbed scanner. I have a Canon flatbed scanner too, but it has a light in the lid to make scanning slides feasible.
That said, I usually take my slides to a photo lab that has a slide scanner and have them scan them for me at 4000 dpi. I think I pay around $1.25 a slide.

Thanks for Answering Weasel!! My Flatbed Canon has a Light on the Base, which means Black Squares.
As far as Me Paying that for them, at this Time, I cant, BUT I WILL have it done. For My Daughters Sake its a small Price to Pay!
Thank you Sir! I DO Admire Your Photos, Very Much!! :archer:
Thanks, Shakes!
