Actually it is a computer problem that keeps me from loading my Kodak software. When I start my computer I get a window "preparing to install". It appears my computer is loading something for the next 6 minutes then the preparing to install window disappears. My Kodak updater was running all the time so I uninstalled my Kodak program hoping to reinstall it and correct the problem. After loading the Kodak program and being asked to restart my computer it goes into the "preparing to install" mode again. This apparently causes a conflict with loading the Kodak program and I get a message that the Kodak program has encountered a problem and needs to close. I tried installing the Kodak program in safe mode but it still wouldn't go. I also tried to reset my computer to an earlier date(windows xp) and got the message "can't complete task pick another date" but get the same message on every other date.
I have a bunch of pictures on my camera for a "broken selfbow limb replacement" build along but can't download them to to post. Any ideas out there?
Frist I have to say I hate that software. Try uninstalling it and download to another photo program. I use adobe.

I am surprised Kodak turns out such poor software. My software came with the camera and is full of stuff a six year old would write differently and more sensibly. I like my camera though.
erick --mine works fine -- i might suggest that you have your securty set to high--set tyhe computer securty at normal-- or -medeumare you useing a firewall--
Eric go to the Kodak web site they have a trouble shooting section. If that fails email them through the Kodak site. I had a similar issue had 2 cameras a HP and a Kodak. The 2 created a software problem with xp. Kodak had a patch to fix it.
I finally gave up and took my computer to a shop. They fixed it but didn't tell me exactly what they did. Everything works just fine now.
Maybe they just tightened the loose nut behind the keyboard :bigsmyl: :bigsmyl:
Sorry Eric, I couldn't resist :p ....Van
