Title: $5.00 Kangaroo Arrow Rest and Plate
Post by: Scott Teaschner on April 10, 2011, 04:04:00 PM
I started looking for other sources for kangaroo because the finish that I liked is no longer available. It had a hard glossy finish which made it more pricey than normal kangaroo which is still pricey. Anyway this new stuff I got is pretty nice. I have shot a bunch and can not see any significant difference other than price. I even made a tab with it and its had a lot of rounds through it with no signs of wear. I feel these plates will far out last any other plate out there and they are slick. I am still skiving the edges which does three things; promotes the radius of the shelf, prevents feathers from lifting the edge, and extends the life of your feathers. I have included a diagram to show how much radius can be lost with adding a thickness of leather without a skived edge. The skived edge will actually enhance the radius on your bow. They are 2 3/8" long X 1 1/2" wide, they are not adhesive backed so you will need some Barge cement to apply. I still have some left in the other finish but not much. So for $5.00 the price of stamp and 3% if you do Pay Pal, you cant go wrong.
