Hello Kyle and Nakohe I live in Point close to Emory. I'd like to get together with u all if u decided to. I just got into trad. archery a few weeks ago. I am itching to hunt badly. I won't be able to deer hunt until next season, but I should be ready by then. I'd love to try hunting for other things in the meantime.

Will do Kyle. If you are up for some spring turkey or hogs, maybe we can get together for that. I could also maybe take you next year as a guest for deer. We will see.

lease prices are extremely variable. Acreage is prolly the biggest factor. Its nice to have about 100 acres per hunter, but with bowhunting, and plenty of cover, you can get away with much less acreage. However more acreage is always a bonus, especially for spot and stalk. Im paying 600 to hunt a 4 deer county just south of lufkin. I took a doe there in bow season and could have filled my tags with a rifle, but im not real happy with it. I wont be back on it next year. I just hate hunting east texas pines.

Id like to get a place for about 500 a person. I may be dreaming. lol. Im just not willing to pay alot for a one buck county, i suppose. But of course id be willing to pay considerably more if there was some great hog hunting.

I know what you mean Kyle. I pay $560.00 for a two buck county, but it is small acerage. 350 acres and 5 hunters. My brother and I are the only bow hunters so October it is all ours, except we are limited to our areas of about 65 acers or less each. We do have quite a bit of cover so that helps. We both usually take a deer apiece with our bows before gun season starts and even hunt some during gun season with our bows. There have been a lot of hogs on the back side of the lease and the other guys do not mind us hunting there in the off season for hogs. The one draw back is the drive to the lease. 4 1/2 hrs. I would love to find a place a lot closer even if I had to go to a one buck county. But, I too would like it to have hogs. I will keep my eyes and ears open.

yeah im tired of burning up half a day in driving. Just wears ya out and your not willing to go as often. We are only driving 3 hours now, but id love to have something under 2 hours. I grew up hunting brady, tx. That was about a 5 hour drive for us. Fabulous hunting however. My boss has a lease in childress, which is a 6 hour drive. YIKES. Ive gone with him twice this year and that is a long haul.

Hey Kyle,

It sounds like jmar relly needs some help. Maybe we should try and all three of us get together some where in the next week or two and shoot some where. I am willing to travel out your way for a get together. Let me know.

I would love to get together Nakohe. What does that mean anyway? I live in Point between Lake Tawakoni and Lake Fork close to Emory. I would be willing to travel to get together. Let me know if u all would be interested, it would be nice to meet others with the same enthusiasm for bows. Also, if we went stump hunting would u need a hunting license to go out in the woods, I don't have one yet.
