Shot this doe today. 50 lb. Iron Mtn. longbow...160 grain STOS... (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/wallyholmes/doetwo2004small.jpg)
Looks like a big ol girl, good job!
Good on ya, bud. What do you think of the 160 Stos?
I've shot two deer with the 160 STOS(this deer and an 8 point 2 years ago) and am very satisfied with its performance. I think it penetrates like a grizzly but is a lot easier to sharpen. I hope to do some more testing with them soon :) ....
Nice harvest Wally, congrats
Nice whitetail, sir! I'm a big fan of the STOS 160's as well.
Do you have to sharpen them like the tutorial on the Grizs in the How To Forum, or is the edge correct already and just needs sharpening?
Bernie,
The STOS sharpens very easily--I just use a file and then ceramic rods. The 8 point I shot with them I just file sharpened. One of the easiest heads to sharpen....I've never been able to get an edge on grizzlies that I was satisfied with, but the STOS is a piece of cake. You can't go wrong with the STOS....
Thanks everyone for the comments.....
