Heading to South Africa in two weeks. Been 90% packed for a month now lol. Shooting good, bow is quiet, broadheads are sharp. I'm ready to go!
Good luck! The next 2 weeks will probably drag by slowly!
Yeah slower than Christmas to a kid! LOL
Enjoy, the best of luck to you!
best of luck, take a bunch of pictures!
Been working with new DSLR camera and shooting all morning. Plan on taking LOTS of pics.
Good luck on your hunt. I'm sure you'll have a great time. Went for the first time last June, and planning to go again next August of 2018.
String broke on my recurve... No damage to bow. looks like it separated under the serving. Probably caused by the brass nock set.
I have some spares but they aren't padded at the ends. I doubt there is time to get another one from SBD strings but I will try. 12 days until departure.
I contacted Pierre at SBD bowstrings hoping I could get one before my departure. He came through like always! Give his strings a try! Superior product and performance with second to none customer service!
Good thing that it broke here and not there and that there was no damage. Its for that very reason that I don't use the crimp on brass nocks. I had one break in the same way, ever since I have been tying on a string nock. Its easy and is easier on gloves too.
We will be in South Africa next week, good luck!
I need to learn how to tie them. Good luck in Africa!
There are many ways to tie on nocks but the easiest I've found and never had a problem with is tie a piece of bowstring or braided serving material with an overhand knot back and forth on opposite sides of the bowstring then tie off with a square knot and either add a drop of super glue or carefully melt the ends. You adjust by turning it like a nut up and down the string.
Seems like Charlie Lamb had a tutorial on it years ago.
Enjoy a memorable, successful and safe hunt.
Good luck!
Now it's just 2 days!
can't wait for the pics, good luck and safe travels
The suspense is killing me!
Has anyone heard from razorsharptokill? looks like he was really active here then he left for Africa and nothing since then?
I hope he had a safe trip
Would like to hear from him as well, as I have a hunt booked to Namibia in Aug and would like to get more information about the hunts, as well as packing lists, etc.
I came across a post made last month by Jim on an Africa Hunting forum using the same handle as here so it appears he got there and back safely anyway.
