Title: Prayer for pops
Post by: motormouth on March 01, 2013, 04:40:00 PM
For those of you who know, My father is the man I look up to the most, followed closely by some of the men on here that I shoot with. Well, Last week, we learned that my dad, Steve, has cancer. It was a surprise to us as we didn't see this coming. He has Prostate cancer which is treatable. They are looking at different treatment options but are maintaining a positive outlook. I will keep you all updated on what is decided. What we know is that it started in the Prostate and they are doing tests to see where it's spread. They are pretty sure it has begun spreading around the body. When he gets results back, I
ll let you all know. Prayers please.

Good news, Matt! Tell Steve to claim Christ's healing power and have faith.

Buddy is having robotic prostate cancer surgery done... check if it's available up there...said 1/3 the potential for any nerve damage and 50% of the healing time.

Excellent news on the confinement of the cancer.

So Dad has decided to get the Prostate out the 26th. Also, to our delight, he decided to take a Sabbatical. For those of you who don't know, My pops is a preacher man and after 31 years in the ministry, some time off is very welcome. He plans on taking up Leather work and to build another bow. Prayers are always welcome. we're not out of the woods yet. Thank you to all who have been praying.

Matt,

Thanks for the update. I told Carl.  Scary stuff right there, but they've made incredible progress in prostate cancer surgery!

Prayers continue for Pops to do well in surgery and rebound quickly after so he has time to ENJOY that sebatical.

Take away his cell phone so he can't still get sucked in...you know your Dad's devotion!  :)

Time to run interference for him        :jumper:

Tell him Doc said to Keep the Son in his Eyes!

Got it and sent it on to Carl as well.  Carl has himself spinning like a top these days.

I'll try to give Steve a call, if not before surgery, maybe early April after he's had a few days to recoup.

Prayers up for your Dad's surgery and our Trad friend, Tom Kidwell, too! Now I have my next door neighbor who might have that problem as well.

Prayers abound for good surgical outcomes and complete restoration!

Wondered how it went...but knowing that the post-operative period is no fun right off, I wasn't about to call...

Thanks for the update.

Hard to get it all, but a wee bit of chemo or radiation follow-up usually seals it and all is well!

Give your Pop my best and prayers continue!
