Guys this belongs in prayers and concerns and I'll move it there in a day or two but I thought it important to let the general membership know.
Our friend Tracy Potter "KSTrapper" is in the hospital with some serious issues involving aneurysms of the brain and heart issues associated with them.
If you would please pause for a moment and say a prayer for him. He is a good friend to many on this site. I only wish I was as good a man as Tracy is.
I hate news like this.
I will definitely say a prayer for Tracy and his family!
Agreed Charlie. If I was only half the man... God Bless you my friend!

Me and Tracy back in April after he guided me on Eastern Turkey hunt in Kansas where I got my Eastern bird with a recurve. Tracy's wife has kept me updated and he is going through a real tough deal, it is very serious. I am hoping for many more hunts with him.
Tracy and I both have trapped most of our lives and this year we have sent each other pictures every morning of what we have caught and talked about each animal we caught and the ones we missed. We are also planning a out of state trapping trip to the mountains of Wyoming to help out Iron Bull get rid of some of his cats and coyotes. Guys if you don't know Tracy, he is one special guy with a great wife and family behind him. My thoughts and prayers are with them all!
Mike
Prayers sent for a speedy recovery. (nut)
update from Tracy's wife:
"Tracy's journey: Friday morning his INR was 5.7 (2.5-3.5 is normal, the higher the # the thinner the blood). Friday afternoon he had 3 falls outside, he did not hit his head. Following the falls he was experiencing a headache and nausea that progressively got worse. He was taken by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial around 7:45pm. In the LMH ER he had a CT that revealed hemorrhaging on his brain. He was taken by life flight to the KU medical Center Neuro ICU. A CT 6hrs after the first showed more hemorrhaging that was causing swelling and shifting of his brain. The Neuro team decided a craniotomy was his best option. During his craniotomy Saturday afternoon they drained the hemorrhage which was located between the skull and the protective layering around the brain. Surgery went well and Tracy woke up very alert and reactive. Overnight he had two small episodes in which his heart "paused" briefly for 8 seconds and 6 seconds. The cardio team determined it was misfiring between the brain and heart due to swelling. They inserted a temporary pace maker, to this point it has not been needed. By Monday morning Tracy was less responsive but his vital signs remained stable and another CT showed no changes. By the afternoon he was no longer verbally responsive. The neuro team assessed and ordered another CT scan, it showed no new bleeding but increasing pressure. They determined he needed a second surgery to remove the bone fragment, used to access the brain, and place it in his abdomen. It will remain there for 4-6 weeks. This gives his brain room to swell and releases pressure. When they removed the bone fragment from his skull they found another clot between the skull and protective layer. There were no more bleeds. The team chose to leave him sedated and on the ventilator overnight. As of this morning he is stable. They are slowly bringing him out of sedation and are hopeful that they will remove the ventilator later today. We ill continue to update. Please feel free to share this information with friends or loved one we may have missed. Thank you for your continued prayers and support. Our family has felt and appreciated it!"
prayers, buddy
My internet has been down so I just found out about this from another tradganger (Bretto) this morning. Since I have spoke with Marla, Tracy's wife. Tracy is a very good friend of mine and a fighter and he'll come thru this I know. He's had alot of health concerns the last couple years and thought they were all behind him. I'm praying for him and his family and am sure we'll be back hunting and shooting together soon.

Prayers up for Tracy, may the Lord touch him with his healing hands and give him strength.
Keep the thoughts & prayers coming boys.
So sorry to hear about Tracy...prayers for the family & Tracy.
"Update: Just wanted to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers! Today was a better day! He is still intubated, but only as a back up source. Plans are to remove it tomorrow. He slowly became more and more responsive as the day went along. Nodding yes and no to our questions and lifting and moving his limbs. We are grateful for each small step to bringing him whole again. Much love, Marla and family"
Just found out about this today....speechless!
Glad to hear he's starting to recover!

Tracy is a fighter and a heck of a good guy. This isn't his first rodeo with health issues so he knows how to keep going. I'm just hoping things stabilize for him.
Thanks for the updates Kevin!

Thanks for updating the gang Kevin. Tracy is doing well today and was able to sit up and brush his teeth. He has a long road ahead of him but through our prayers and his toughness I know he'll get through it!!
Awesome news Kevin!
Awesome news Kevin!
"Tracy Update: Lots to update tonight, they took out the ICP bolt (Intracrainal Pressure) and the temporay Pacemaker that they had in place! Said that both were no longer needed! OT came and visited him today, had him sit up on the side of the bed and do some arm excersies and brush his teeth. Speech Therapy came to make sure he was swallowing properly and he is!! With all this activity today, he was pretty worn out! Slept a lot this afternoon. Actually had a regular diet for dinner, not that he at much of it, the appetite will come! His body is starting to tell him that it is tired of laying in bed!! The kids and I keep telling him how many people are supporting/praying for us! It is very humbling to say the least but we sure do appreciate it! Much Love Marla and kids "

great news!
Good to hear progress is being made!! Keep up the good work Tracy.

EXCELLENT news!!!
So glad to read progress reports for our folks in need of prayer.
Prayers will continue for full restoration!
"Tracy Update: Today was a GREAT day! Right from the start, when I looked into his eyes I saw clarity that I had not seen since this all started. He was very alert and talkative, like the Tracy we know and love! He also had his feeding tube taken out. He fed himself breakfast, this was really the first time he has had an appetite. He had OT stop in and see him, she sat him on the side the of the bed and had him do arm exercises. Yesterday when OT stopped in this activity wore him out for the rest of the day. Today it seemed to energize him. He ate a bigger lunch and felt good. He took a short nap and then had PT stop in, she got him up and out of bed. He even walked down the hall!!! I was so impressed and proud of him! The speech theripst stopped by to work on some cognitive skills with him. He did well, but got frustrated when some things didn't come easily. We reasurred him they will come. There is talk that tomorrow we may get moved out of ICU!! Scary but exciting news, I have been so happy with Tracy's care @ KU Med, from the Doc's to the Nurses!! I can never thank them enough for saving Tracy's life. My family will be forever grateful. Much love Marla and Family "
God IS Good!
"Tracy Update: Wonderful news, we are no longer in ICU!!! God is Good!! He has heard our prayers! We still have a lot of hurdles to cross, but we will take them on one at a time! The kids and I continue to tell Tracy how all of you are praying and sending well wishes our way! It really does help us all thru this difficult time. I know that there are a lot of you that would like to stop in and see him but I would ask that you refrain for now to you allow him more time to heal. It still does not take to much to tire him out. I will let everyone know when he is up to visitors! ( I know that he is looking forward to that) Much love and continue prayers. Marla and family."
I am doing well and on the road to a long recovery but will make it with friends like you guys. Thank you for all the prayers!
