Title: Seriously Burnt
Post by: Ted A. Young on February 01, 2007, 07:25:00 PM
Guys I'm ashmaed to admit that I don't always stop at this section when I check Trad Gang.  For that I ask your forgivness seeing as how I am compelled to bring a close friends need to you for prayers.

John Stratten who works in maintenance at the Newark Hospital was working on an older model truck yesterday.  One with a carburator.  No one knows if John tried to prime the carburator or not.  It backfired and caught him full in the face.  He was wareing a polyester shirt and it just melted to him.  He has 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree burns from the waist up and they fear he inhealed some fire.  He is in the Ohio State burn unit in very serious condition.  John has been on my mind all day today.  I know you will all take John to out Lord in prayer.  Thank you.

Ted,

We all have our way of "going to God." This just works for some of us and I have the time at home to keep on here regularly.  When I no longer have that time, I will carry in my heart as you likely do.

Prayers for John. Sounds like Too Short's deal with polyester skivvies in that hunting camp leading to his serious burns.  Burns are so horrible!

Lord, keep John in your loving arms, along with his family and friends. You have the power to bring him to complete healing...but according to Your Will Lord. Not ours.  Wrap him in your Peace, Lord...and those who love Him. Let John feel your comfort and peace. We ask for healing for this man, but according to your will. Amen.

Hi Brother,
John will be lifted up in our prayers. Among many injuries a serious burn has got to be one of the most painful and hardest to get over.
                                    GOD BLESS

Better news yesterday evening that first report.  John has 1st and 2nd degree burns.  One small 3rd degree on his chin.  Xrays of lungs show no signs of being burnt.  He showed signs of trying to breath on his own yesterday.  Still heavily sedated.  Thanks for your prayers.

Praise the Lord for lesser burns and no lung involvement!!! Thank you Jesus!

Lord, if it be your will, continue with your healing that this man, John, can turn to all and say, "only by the Grace of God was I made well" and know your peace during this difficult and painful healing time.

Thank you all for the prayers on John's behalf.  He is being kept in an induced coma and getting morphine.  They were to have a eye specialist in to check the eyes.  With the week end my nurse source is off.  The critical 72 hours have passed and I hope no news is good news!  I know how it hurts to have a small burn feels.  I can not imagine the pain John must have felt.  Continue holding John up to the Lord.

It appears I spoke to soon on the 72 hour period.  I got a call late last night that John has indeed developed an infection as he has developed a fever.  He does now show some signs of lung trauma.  He has been place on antibiotics and the greatest fear is he will develop pneumonia.  I'm told it is almost a certainty.

Can only lift John to our Lord and leave it His grace.

God is good!  God is great!  All praise and glory be to God!

John is awake!  Setting up and talking to his family!  Demanding some give him a Coke.  The burned areas are all nice and pink indicating good blood flow.  He will remain in isolation for a couple more days to make sure there is no infection and then will be moved to a room and allowed visitors.

God always hears and answers prayer!  Just some times the answer is no.
