I have a question what can a guy expect to find one with no holes and decent shape?
Looking for a mid 40s. 1962 is my birth year.
Thank you
I recently got a 1962 KMag in great shape for 150 bucks. I have a 1961 Kodiak I paid 175 for. I have a 1960 Kodiak I paid 918 for. Spend what you want to.

Mitch -
I've yet to find a bow I shoot better than my 62 Kodiaks. I've got 4 of them - I spent $300 and up $450 on them.
The $450 bow has some truly spectacular rosewood- and I bought it when the bow market was quite a bit stronger than it is now.
That being said - Dave is right on the money (so to speak) - spend what you are willing to when you find the right bow.
I'd bet you will not be disappointed in how they shoot :)
Terry
Thank you. I'm going to be on the lookout for one
I appreciate the insight
I missed one last year that went for $275
I have "overpaid" for a bow myself but I was ok with it since I really wanted it lol. If you find one love I'd say whatever your willing to pay.
That was the case with the 918 dollar Kodiak. It is in great condition and I wanted it for a very specific collection. There is no magic to a Kodiak. Many say the 1962 Kodiak Special is the best ever Bear bow.

I have a 62 in the rosewood.I paid $300 it and bear quiver and a bunch of other old archery stuff.I figured $200 into the bow.I'm thinkin $350 value bow only. But I wound'nt sell mine, Its a #50er.Only one other bow I ever shot that is sweeter was a #47 1959 kodiak.
are you rh or lh ?
Right hand.
had a lefty that is 65# that I would have parted with...and keeping the other lefty that I picked up from a friend a few years ago...
Oh man
I may have found one now I'll have to look for a k mag 1962
Big thanks to Brad I'll have my hands on one in a couple weeks
:bigsmyl: :bigsmyl: :bigsmyl:
I was also born in 1962 and I bought one on **** for $250.00. The 1962's are BEAUTIFUL!
I am left handed so they are even harder to find:(
I am looking for another one 45lb or lower if anyone has one:)
Ingwe, One of the advantages of being left handed is that when you do find what you are looking for, it is usually cheap. Left handed bows gather a lot of dust and get marked down hoping that one of the six or seven left handed archers in America will buy an extra bow?
Gator1, I haven't looked but my guess is that you will see the Kodiak on Tuesday. It is a beauty! Now that it is out of the way, I can see little 37# Rosewood beauty.
Maybe you can take the twelve step program and post a picture when it arrives in Minnesota.
Thanks Brad, LOL!
Brad you can count on it. I'm going to make some acme cedars for its arrival.
Can't wait. :archer2: :archer2:

62 Kodiaks are pretty awesome!!!! Looks like you found a nice one.
The 62 Kodiak is a very impressive design
and boy they shoot really good!
Looks nice Gator1
Funny how much the market is down, maybe half price to what these bows were 10 years ago.
Looks very clean and ready to go. I've been looking for a 40 to 45 pounder myself. My 50 is more for fall . Want the lighter one for the rest of the year.
