Title: 63 Kodiak challenges 64 Kodiak
Post by: Blackhawk on October 15, 2008, 06:57:00 PM
The lowly 63 Kodiak has had enough!    :readit:  There is no need for me to post the actual scores for fear of embarassing the 64, but the 63 does not need to hang its head any longer.

I have never shot a 64. However I own 20 recurves and I shoot my 63 Kodiak better than any of them.

There is talk of the '64 being the ultimate............it came second to a 1962 I own-did not test my '63. Both bows were 50#;
the riser length of all 3 years is pretty much the same even though the '64 looks longer.
I think Bear gave it a 'marketing edge'.

OK OK lets settle this once and for all..I say we line up 1959-1966...just the Kodiaks from those years.We will run them on pinks.Lose the race lose your bow....Just kidding of course because BH already settled it.The 64 is by no way the speedster some of his brothers are.But again please keep in mind that those year bows were all hand tilled and the limbs were also tapperd by hand.So thats not to say every 1964 is the same.....I know someone with a 1964 50# that shoots a pretty solid 186 ft per second bouts every shot.The bowdocs 1964 55# same arrow is about 176-178............weird huh ????? ya gotta love em..........bowdoc

That would explain why my 47# 62K seems faster than my 50# 62K.

Ye, gotta love em.  Trap
