When did Howatt add Damon Howatt to there bows?><>

Frank,
I'm no expert on Howatt's, but I believe Howatt recurves were labelled "Damon Howatt" after Martin purchased the Howatt plant in 1976.
I'll try and give you a "timeline" on the emblems used on Howatt recurves.
Here's a link to the Damon Howatt story:
Damon Howatt story (http://www.martinarchery.com/mag/iadamon.html)
According to my feeble memory, the earliest Howatt recurves were labelled "Howatt's Eldorado"
Most of the early Howatts had "Spanish conquistador" type of names.

The next emblem had dropped the "Eldorado", but still retained the "Conquistador" emblem. I don't know if Howatt did that while he still owned the company or after he sold it in 1961:

The next emblem used was a "shield" and I know this was used prior to Martin's purchase in 1976:

The last and current emblem is the one that is most familiar - the "damon howatt" bow shield:

I hope this helps.
After going thru some recurve pictures I need to state that I am not sure if the "Howatt Conquistador" emblem was the 2nd emblem used or if the "Howatt Shield" emblem was.
Scoots;
your photo links just go to the PhotoBucket login page.
Some good info!
I just bought a Howatt ElDorado-Diablo
Good shooting bow! I would guess that it is late 1950s?
Thanks, Raghorn.
I thought I could just add links to the photos so that this page wouldn't take so long to load up.
Oh well, I edited my first post and added the photos for this topic. I hope it doesn't take too long to load.
Thanks guys.<><
Any of ya'll know the years that the damon howatt Super Diablo was made?
Thanks,
Bob
Bob, the Super Diablo is still being made, look at the Dream Catcher, it's the same shape if memory serves me.
