When my Dad was alot younger he shot his biggest mule deer ever with a recurve bow which he remembers being REALLY short (45" at most.)He also thinks he remembers this to have been a bow made by Shakespeare. I have never heard of such a short recurve bow before, but my dad's memory of such things tends to be pretty good (though for some reason he doesn't remember what happened to the bow.)
I would like, if possible, to find another specimen of this bow for him and am wondering if anyone might be able to help me in my search.
thank you
Bear, Indian and some others made 48" bows but like your father, I do remember a shorter one. Going strickly from memory, I think it may have been Herters that made one in the 45" range. I dont know if Shakespeare did.
edit: I looked in a 71 catalog last night and found a 46" Herters but no 45". I did not see that Skakespeare had one that short
The shortest bow Shakespeare made ,That I know of was the Cascade 50 inches. It had a black handle.
