Title: Dutch Oven Cobbler
Post by: Frank V on October 21, 2005, 08:01:00 PM
There have been lots of good meals listed, here's an easy desert:
 Light 18 charcoal bricketts:
I use a 14" dutch oven, grease it including the lid, I use white Crisco, drain off most of the liquid from 2 quarts of peaches pour them into the dutch oven & mix in some cinamon to taste, sugar if you like.
Sprinkle the peaches with a white complete cake mix spread it as evenly as you can.
Pour a 12 oz can of 7-UP, Sprite, Sierra Mist, or similar soft drink over the cake mix & put the lid on it.
Put6 bricketts in a circle under the bottom of the dutch oven, put 12 bricketts around the outer edge of the lid, mine has a rim to keep brickettes & coals out of the oven when you take the lid off, when it smells done it is. Usually takes about 30 min to cook. Might take less or longer if it's really cold or hot. Enjoy! Frank.

Frank
I've been using blackberries and huckleberries mixed half & half and the same recipe. I usally put a little cornstarch & sugar in with the berries.
A little vanilla ice cream on top while still warm is always a hit.

Roughcountry, boy that sounds good! Nice thing about a cobbler is you can tweak it most any way you want.
