Title: Rick Welch question
Post by: Hawk2 on February 15, 2015, 02:22:00 PM
I've watched tons of videos of Rick Welch filming his students and I plan on taking his course but I have never seen any of these many students wearing glass's and one of the things he teaches is to put your nose on the feather. My concern is can he teach me his method (I wear glass's) and would think they would get caught by the string. Please help if any one out there knows.

Depends on the size of the glasses and the shape of your face.  I find it more enjoyable to shoot with contact lenses, if that's a possibility for you.  One thing that doesn't work very well are the transitional lenses that go from near to far vision depending on the angle you look through them.  You're looking at an angle through the side of your glasses when you shoot and the transitional lenses seem to mess people up.  Just wear normal glasses and Rick will fix you up. If you can't use the nose to feather anchor he'll work something else out for you.

I wear fairly large glasses and when I went to Rick's class (back in October,2006) he taught me how to anchor with no problem. Your facial structure does matter and Rick will be able to come up with an anchor that works for you. Enjoy the class.
