I cant seem to figure it out. I pluck the string probably 80% of the time, and I'm not sure what I'm do I differently whe I get a good release.
I used a trainer deal to help me avoid creeping, I can usually keep my bow arm steady all the way through the shot. Just when I release my hand doesnt go back towards my neck/draw a line on my cheek-it stays completely still and I get a terrible twang sound when I release.
Frustrated beyond words with my release, it gets me upset and then my shooting goes to crap.
I release then side me hand back along my skin til I tap my ear. When I don't I pluck and the same thing happens. Practice your release without the bow. Just play air archery and work on that lne along your release back.
It sounds to me like you're "collapsing" on the back end (string shoulder).
The "pluck" may be because the string elbow is forward of the arrow line at the moment of release.

Forget about the release...just really focus on pushing the bow toward the target and the release will take care of itself. IF you continue to PUSH the bow toward the target then you WILL automatically pull through the shot. For ever action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Do you hold at anchor or pull through? I have troubles creeping if I try to hold and "aim". I've gone back to drawing and releasing in one long motion and shoot much better for it.
It sounds as though you are holding at anchor with arm tension and then have to force your fingers off the string. There is no way they can release fast enough.
I would suggest posting a video and letting someone like "moebow" comment on your form/release. It's just amazing what a trained observer can see that we can't see in ourselves.
I do hold @ anchor-trying to learn how to gap shoot. But when I just pulled back and shot (more fluid) I still had a bad release most of the time.

Try this suggestion as I can't see you shoot. When you get to full draw, set your aim THEN THINK,"keep my fingers curled and PULL through!!"
"Fingers curled, PULL through!!!!"

I learned this from Arne. Get as much back tension as possible. Push the bow away from you and pull your string elbow straight back, then back around behind you a little, stretch out. Then just relax your string hand, dont open it, to release. When the arrow goes, if your hand is still wide open, you didnt relax it. Watch Arne's youtube stuff
